こんにちは！
イエニーで～す。
最近仕事でバタバタなので、
なかなかブログを書くの余裕がありませんでした。。。
面白いこといっぱいありましたのに。。。
たとえば、数週間まえに中国の方のガーデンデザイナーが交流するため訪問しました。

The recent weeks I have been super busy preparing the Real Japanese Garden website. I had no time to write any new posts, although a lot happened since the garden show.
For example, we received a visitor from China. Mr Cai is a garden designer from NanJing. This is his web site: 京品庭院设计
We spent nearly three hours talking about how Garden Design is done in Japan, in China and Europe, and about what challenges each area has. Though one challenge seems to be common in every country - people think about their gardens too late in the design process
. After the house has been built, there is no room for change and often, no budget left for a good garden design. 
About the costs to build a garden: While the work wages in Japan are relatively high, which makes a garden expensive, Chinese garden designers face the challenge to find good skilled labor and supervisors - The garden designs are excellent on paper, but unless every step on the construction site is supervised closely, the actual garden might end up looking entirely different...
I was also surprised to learn that it seems to be common for home owners in China to have a Koi carp pond - nearly 80% of Mr. Cai's clients ask for one in the design briefing!
So, yesterday we received a parcel from Mr Cai. In it was a beautiful box with models of Ming Dynasty furniture made out of Red Sandal wood and two pictures from our visit.
One picture is now on my desk, another on Hayano-San's pinboard (wall) and the model furniture is on display. I think that, especially in these times, it is important to meet real people from different countries and keep partaking in the global exchange. After all, there is always something new to be learnt!
I hope I will have the chance to go to China one day and visit Mr. Cai and his lovely wife again!

昨日は古橋先生のE and G Academi （エクステリア＆ガーデン・アカデミー）を見学に行って来ました。
A few weeks ago, Furuhashi-Sensei invited me to visit his Garden Design school in Tokyo. Yesterday, I finally had the time to go. I was curious to see the differnces between my Garden Design school in London (English Gardening School) and a Japanese Garden Design school (www.eandg.co.jp)
Today's lesson: Perspective drawings
This is a subject a lot of students, especially ones with little drawing experience, are really afraid of. So I was really surprised to find a room full of students working on really perfect drawings. Students that have only studied Garden Design for 6 months or less. Furuhashi-Sensei gave very clear step-by-step instructions on how to use a picture of the front of a house and a few easy techniques to create a very detailed perspective drawing. Just - WOW!

I think in England, we learnt a much freer, more casual technique, but it sure is great to be able to draw in both styles.
So, I hope I can visit this school again some time,
it really was a fun experience (although Furuhashi-Sensei seems like a very strict teacher, but in Japan that's a very good thing)

こんばんは、代表です。
皆さん、先日のＪｅｎｎｙが初めて書いてくれたブログは読んで頂けましたでしょうか
私も英語を学べるせっかくの機会なので、まずは手始めに電子辞書を買い、web翻訳をフルに使ってコミュニケーションをしています。
（Google翻訳、Weblio辞書、Nifty翻訳、Babylon翻訳など無料翻訳機能にも得て不得手があるので、皆さんも色々と為してみてください）
そこで英語の勉強にはとても使い易い機能としてご紹介します、
≪Lingoes≫と言う、単語をポップアップ式で翻訳してくれるものがありますのでお薦めしておきます。
こちらは優れもので、英語だけではなく、漢字・国語辞書なども組み合わせておけば、意味まで詳しく説明を出す事が出来るのですよ～文明の進化を感じますねぇ～。
（しかし、これでも足りなくて・・・結局は耳で聞きなれて、目で本を読み、地道に書いて覚えるしかないようですけど・・・）
他にも「発音サイト」「English-Japaneseの対訳辞書」などもあるのですが、またご紹介致しますね。
さて、本題です。
とうとう『丸の内仲通りガーデニングショー2012』が本日より開催されました！”
そして、昨日はワクワク、ドキドキの作品審査と表彰式がありました。
pm6:30頃、丸の内の会場で・・・。
す～さんも着慣れていない感じ（結婚式だったの？）のスーツ姿でカッコ良く登場です。
でも横に座る、相方：す～さんの頭の中は“ど～しよ、ど～しよ”と緊張が見え隠れしていました。。。
（正直、私は今回裏方さんだったのでとても気が楽でした・・・＾＾）
≪そして、表彰式が始まりました≫
概要が説明され、招待の先生方が作られた「テーマガーデン」と「ミニガーデン」以外、
コンテストガーデン部門には、合計１８組がエントリーです。
※尚、今回の出場者１８組は、６０組の応募者中から選ばれているので、この時点で“入賞”となるようです。
ガーデンジュエリー大賞から銀×１、銅×２、その他共催・協賛各社からを含め、合計１１個の賞がもらえます。
（ただし、学生出展が３組ある中で“新人賞”が選ばれますので、一般は１０個）
※9/29－10/1の３日間に一般投票の“オーディエンス賞”がまた後日選ばれます。

≪設計コンセプト≫
花笑みへといざなう箱舟
An Ark Inviting You to Blooming Smiles
日本人は古くから花や緑と共存し、伝統や文化、美意識を培ってきました。過去から現在、未来へとつなぐ扉を開いて、緑の箱舟がたくさんの笑顔と想いを運びます。
自然と暮らしをつなぐ架け橋をコンセプトに、ひとつ一つ丁寧に「想いを形に」して参ります。
ガーデンデザインショップ庭衆
（↓昨日、暗い中付けて来ました）
少し脱線話・・・
１potだけですが、薔薇を使ったんですよ枠の所に・・・
子供が触ると危ないからと言う理由で、トゲが切ってあります。。。
（過去に薔薇ガーデンを作られた作品があったそうですが、それはもうトゲを切るのに大変だったと事務局さんが言われておりました）
↓これは日時計なんですよ（特殊加工品）
↓これは未来にはオゾン層が破壊され、太陽の光が届かなくなるかも知れないので・・・
などと怖い事は考えずに・・・
実は今回は電源が取れなくて、ライティング代わりに「光を集める」サン・キャッチャーと言うエコ商品を使いました。
面白いでしょ
暗い所で夕方や雨が降った後は抜群に綺麗なんですよ！
大きい円盤も輸入したのに・・・いっぱい余らしてしまった・・・
今、余ってしまったのがお店に刺さってます
この子達は、たぶん私のお客さまにプレゼントされます・・・
賛否両論のサン・キャッチャーの宣伝でした～
私のお客さん、楽しみに待っててくださいね

大阪から女性２人で、頑張りまくっておられた、

極め細やかな女性らしい植栽・植物の使いこなしは私達には真似出来ません・・・
本当に遠い所をお疲れさまでした！東京を楽しんで帰ってください！

でもでも、今回裏方に徹している私のお仕事ですから、皆さんに全てをお伝えしなきゃです

今回、受賞させていただいた賞なのですが、
ジャパンガーデンデザイナーズ協会の会長さんは正木 覚さん
実は、うちの相方：す～さんが目標にしている、ナチュラルテイストの神様のような先生なのです。
今回はこっそり、お会い出来る事が判っていたので、す～さんは１０年来バイブルとして持っていた正木先生の本をカバンに忍ばせて、サインをもらおうとして居たぐらいの大ファンだったのです
その方に自分の作品を選んでもらった事が嬉しくて仕方がなかったみたいです
満面の笑みで、憧れの正木先生と名刺交換に握手にサインに記念撮影に更に少しお話をさせて頂いて・・・思い残す事はもう無い・・・
とまで言ってます。。。
さぁ～もうホントに最後だ
台風17号がキテますよね！”

明日の夜から１日に掛けて直撃だそうですね・・・
今から、裏方の私は台風対策・補強の為、ふっ飛んでしまいそうな扉をワイヤーで補強に行ってきます！

伊恵弐(Jenny)ともうします
日本に住むドイツのガーデンデザイナーです。
六月から庭衆に務めています。。。
オフィスは楽しくて働ける空間ですから、
時間がたつのはsuper-早い。

The atmosphere in our office is very relaxed. Working together with my boss Hayano-San, Suda-San (both garden designers) and the architect Yoshino-San, is a lot of fun and I learn tons when I am around them.
Also, in Hayano-San's "super strict SPARTA Japanese school" (早野さんのsuper厳しいスパルタ日本語教室) ;-) I learn new Japanese words every day - like ジャンプ傘 - Jump-Kasa
- an umbrella that opens automatically, when push the botton. Or 気難しいパソコン
- in case of my laptop, when the keyboard refused to work for no good reason. Or 島国, Island-Country (Japan), a phrase that is the introduction to the answer to a lot of my questions about Japanese customs, history, gardens, society, everything...
I can't believe I have been here for nearly 4 months already. Time flies faster than a Shinkansen!

I am here to write about our show garden at the Marunouchi garden show 2012!
This is actually the first garden show I help to prepare. In June, we thought about participating, and Suda-San handed in a design. The original plan was that I also submit one or we combine both of our plans, but working on our Real Japanese Garden project (more on that in another post), I was too 忙しい-isogashii (busy) to even think about a design. Maybe the next time...
In August, we received the acceptance letter from the show committee - yeay!
So the detailed planning phase began - plants, material, costs,...
In a balcony garden for a client in Tokyo, we used Sun catchers, colorful German garden accessories that catch the light and reflect it even on a dull day. They are not available in Japan, so we decided that the sun catchers should become our eye catchers...

The day before yesterday, we started working at 10pm in Marunouchi - a chic shopping and office area right next to Tokyo Station. Our garden is in a really good spot, directly next to the Marunouchi building and quite close to the station and the imperial palace.

Everyone was excited to get the work started. Since the garden had to be build on a normal sidewalk, the constractors had build a frame, that only needed to be assembled on site. That saved us a lot of time and energy! We filled it up with styrofoam panels in some places - on the one hand we wouldn't have to fill up the entire space with soil, but also to support our centerpieces, the door frame and the door.
After assembling the frame, construction begins:
The door frame and door were fixed to the ground - since September/October is typhoon season, we put in some extra bolts, just in case...
Laying the stepping stones (飛石- tobi-ishi) was left to the pros:
Then came the plants - when I saw the first car, I thought: Too much!! We only have 5.5 x 1.5m - how should all of that fit in here. Then came a second truck with trees... And another with some filler plants... Our working area was confined - everything had to be stored and constructed inside the area marked with traffic cones. With all the plants on site, we couldn't even move around anymore. When we finally put the plants in the soil, we planted them really close together, much closer than any gardener would - after all, it's a show garden and the plants have to look abundant and as though they have always been here.

Before I forget it: This is our guard man - complete with hard hat, uniform and red star wars light saber - we had him only for our garden during the construction process.

Hayano-San and Suda-San added some final touches to the show garden yesterday night, and today, all that was left for me and Yoshino-San to do was taking pictures of the final garden:

いや～慣れない、夜間工事はなかなか大変ですね、時間が読めないのが辛かった・・・
夜型なので朝まで起きているのはぜんぜん平気なのですが・・・

９月２５日pm10:00から、とうとう設営が始まりました！”
今回、相方す～さん指揮の元、
設営を手伝ってくれたメンバーは、当日の昼間も普通に仕事していて、資材を遠くから運んでくれたり、夜遅くまで頑張ってくれました！”

お向かいで施工していた先輩：福元さん達はなんと。。。
当日のお昼に大阪を車で出発し、８時間ぐらい掛けて現場に到着し、そのまま私達より遅くまで作業されておりました。。。朝方にうちのお店に植栽材料を仮置きに来て、更にホテルのチェックインまで起きていたとか・・・しかし、すげ～体力です。。。
それでは、また完成したらブログをUPします！”
